Because of a little problem with script comprimizing I used for version 2.2.0 to make the gadgets size smaller, some Win7 users have had problems with the powerplan module. Under some circumstances it won’t shown but a blank spot instead.
This should be fixed now.
I jutst installed in a Acer AAONE D250 and works just fine!!
(takes a while to start but it worth it! 😉
@Michael: This is a known problem. Take a look at this post and the comments and you’ll see and understand. I’m still working on it. 🙂
After downloading it and installation, when trying to configure, as soon as I did all the modifications I want and hit „OK“ button, a pop-up message appears saying „At least one module should be activated“. Then it state remains as before, no modifications were made. Moreover, if I try to add more watches, the timezone combo are empty.
My machine: Dell Latitude D620 runing Windows Vista Business Edition. Please advise…
Sorry for the slow response–I have not been around to answer.
Del described it just right–after hitting OK (whether any changes have been made or not), the window goes blank and the menus are now also blank. Furthermore, all changes made are not saved. Thanks for trying to solve the problem.
Hello. Tried to change the setting for the battery time but received the same error when I tried to click OK to save it. Yes, I got the blank screen the first time I tried to save changes to the settings. One other note, all the drop down menus are blank. Hope this info is helpful. Thanks again for looking into this.
@Del: @Jeff:
At the moment I’m still searching for a solution and hopefully can get it. Seems this is a problem with HP notebooks and if so, it can be in the battery part, ‚cause there are known problems with some manufacturers (e.g. Sony, HP, Lenovo).
But I’ve an additional question and a suggestion: Did you get the blank screen directly after installing the gadget?
If not, did you try in settings page the option „Don’t ask Windows to provide remaining battery time…“ to set?
regards
I love this gadget. However, having the same problem as Jeff on an HP laptop. When I try to make any change to the settings, the error appears „At least one module has to be activated.“ Tried installing SP2 but did not fix it. Thanks for the help.
@Jeff: No idea at the moment, Jeff 🙁
But I’ll take a look on it and try to reproduce this behaviour.
Maybe it has to do with SP1? Can you try to install SP2 on your machine and try to run the gadget again?
I tried v2.2.1 and it does not work on my HP laptop running Vista SP1. It does initially come up, but if I change any of the settings, it just goes blank. Even the setting windows also become blank. I would like to use this really nice gadget. Any idea why it does not work? Thanks.
@SDHolden: Wonderful it works. Further much fun with the gadget. 🙂
2.21 fixed the powerplan section on both my Vista & windows 7 machines. Thx for the gadget, and the quick fix!!
