Kleine Umfrage / small survey

In order to optimize my gadget, I came upon the idea of a small survey launch.

Alex » The problem with stuck gadget while no internet connection is available will be fixed on next version (will be out in a few days).
Either the next version brings the option to save and restore the gadgets settings. Maybe in near future I’ll add the option to save only the style.

  3. Februar 17th, 2012 at 15:33 | #3

Tim » I don’t know why the gadget foget it’s settings after reboot. You are the first who told me this. Did you try to do a clean install of my gadget?
Maybe the upcoming version (in a few days) will fix this behaviour. As additional feature the next version will bring an option to save and restore settings of the gadget.

    Hi Margu,

Just downloaded ver 2.6 and I like what I see – Have just now downloaded 2.9 to play with !!!!!
Have noticed a small bug in the 2.6 version and it is to do with the date / time module – date today is 24 th November 2011 but the graphical (monthly) date is highlighted for the 11th November – just probably a parsing problem as Aussies use DD/MM/YYY format – as an aside, we do not do Daylight Saving for my state of (Queensland) and Capital City of Brisbane (UTC + 10 hours) – even Win 7 hasn’t caught up with things yet
I’ll let you know if it is still in 2.9

What screen resolution do you use on your computer screen and at what size?
    15.4″ Laptop @ 1366 x 768
Which Windows version is the gadget running at?
    Windows 7
Do you use a PC or notebook?
    Notebook
    Which processor is used?
    Intel i7 Q740
    Do you have WiFi?
Yes, but this not always available in my region.
Which modules of the gadget have you active?
Date, Time, Calendar, WiFi, LAN, CPU/RAM Monitor, Battery Life, Uptime
If you use the clock, do you make use of the second Time zone?
    No
Do you use the alarm function?
    No
Do you use the opportunity to change the colors?
Yes! I love this feature. Please allow the ability to import/export styles or color schemes from an external file, so we can load styles onto other computers, or quickly switch between different styles on the same computer.
Would you like to have different pre-set color schemes?
Yes, this would be nice, but see #9 above. I would like the ability to customize and personalize color schemes.
What additional info would you like to have on the gadget?
    CPU Temperature, if possible.
If you could wish one change, what should it be?
A possible bug fix: I think the gadget depends on connection to the internet before being able to start. Please disable this in case we are not connected to the internet but still want to be able to use the gadget.
Also, I would like to be able to have the gadget save styles to the computer in case of an accidental change.

Well, let me try to answer some of your questions.

I use your gadget on a desktop PC and a laptop. The desktop uses a 4×3 monitor at 1280×1024 resolution,
and the laptop has a 16×9 monitor at 1600×900.

The gadget is running on Windows 7 (desktop+laptop) and Vista (laptop).

The desktop is a single core (Celeron D, 3.2 GHz) and the laptop a dual core (T4200, 2 GHz).

The way I use it now is this:
    http://i52.tinypic.com/a3389i.png

HDD usage, when it becomes available, will DEFINITELY be added.
Besides that I think the gadget offers everything that is needed.

If I could make only 1 change? I would slightly change the appearance of the gadget.

The grey lines separating the modules get in the way of the text with certain lettertypes.
Also the icons indicating CPU usage and RAM usage could be removed,
to move the bars a bit to the left.

I would suggest something looking like this:
