A few fixes and changes I’ve done in this release. The problem with remaining battery time if it is collected from Windows is nearly fixed. No problems if using Windows7 but working with Vista is hard, because Microsoft didn’t implement the System.Machine.PowerStatus.batteryCapacityRemaining in Vista for the sidebar.

I did a hack so now it works with Vista but stuck every 15 seconds.

If you check the box on the settings page for self calculating remaining batterytime all is working well.

Ein paar Fehlerkorrekturen und Änderungen habe ich in dieser Version eingebaut. Das Problem mit der Restlaufzeit des Akku wenn der Wert aus Windows herausgeholt wird ist annähernd behoben. Unter Windows7 funktioniert alles tadellos, aber mit Vista ist es schwer, weil Microsoft wohl vergessen hat das System.Machine.PowerStatus.batteryCapacityRemaining in Vista für die Sidebar zu aktivieren.

Ich habe das nun notdürftig geflickt, so daß es unter Vista einigermaßen funktioniert, aber alle 15 Sekunden hängt das Gadget kurz.

Ganz ohne Probleme läuft alles, wenn in den Gadget Settings der Haken gesetzt wird, daß die Restlaufzeit vom Gadget berechnet werden soll.

I realised that the gadget stop working while running on battery if the gadget gets remaining battery time from Windows. If it is set to calculate the remaining time itself all is running well.

Will try to fix this problem as soon as possible.

Ich habe festgestellt, daß das Gadget aufhört zu arbeiten wenn das Notebook auf Akku läuft und die Restlaufzeit von Windows geholt werden soll. Sobald eingestellt ist, daß die Restlaufzeit selbst berechnet werden soll funktioniert alles reibungslos.

Werde versuchen das so schnell wie möglich zu beheben.

Theme settings 2.1.0

I’ve rewritten the theme section, so now it is possible to select colours for the background and the text on the gadget.

The text is split into 4 sections.

• Label: every text which is for notes or naming purposes (e.g. the uptime, the cpu clock)
• Normal, Warn and Critical: these are the colours for all text parts which shows different states (e.g. battery level, wifi status)

The preview on the settings page only shows the background colour on the gadget-preview pane. For the text colours I’ve  a coloured field below each color picker.

I’ve tried to get the text preview on the preview pane too, but it is heavy work. But I think it ist useful in this way either.

Ich habe die Funktion für das Thema komplett neu geschrieben um die Möglichkeit zu bieten nicht nur die Farbe für den Hintergrund, sondern auch für die Texte auf dem Gadget zu ändern.

Der Bereich für die Textfarbe ist in 4 Teile gegliedert.

• Label: Jeder Text, der dazu dient etwas zu beschreiben wird hier gewählt (z.B. die Uptime, die CPU Geschwindigkeit)
• Normal, Warn, Critical: Das sind die Farben für alle Bereiche, die verschiedene Stati anzeigen (z.B. Akkulevel, WLAN status)

Die Vorschau auf der Settingsseite zeigt nur den Wechsel beim Hintergrund an. Für die Textfarben habe ich ein Farbfeld unter jedem Farbwähler.

Ich habe versucht auch die Vorschau für die Textfarbe in die Vorschau einzubinden, aber das ist sehr aufwendig. Doch meiner Meinung nach ist es auch so schon sehr nützlich.

Heute das nächste Update. Hiermit dürfte das Gadget dann wirklich unter Vista und Win7 (x86 und x64) laufen.

Es ist vollbracht. Ich habe die 2. Version meines Gadgets freigegeben.

Viel hat sich geändert und es ist auch einiges neu.

Die größte Änderung besteht darin, daß nun jeder User selbst wählen kann, welche Informationen er auf dem Gadget sehen möchte. Jeder Bereich ist in einzelne Module gegliedert die bei Bedarf ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden können.

Somit bekommt jeder User nur die Informationen, die ihm wichtig sind.

Now it’s done. I released the 2nd Version of my gadget.

Much changed and there’s also some new.

The largest change consists of, that each user can select which information he would like to see on the Gadget now. Each area is arranged into individual modules which can be switched on or off  if necessary.

So each user gets only the information which is important to him.
