The beta phase is over and I’m presenting here the current version 2.3.2 of my gadget.

Requested by many users, I have now installed the option to save and restore the gadgets settings. For this a text file will be created whose path and name can be chosen individually. Thus, we can now for example a determined configuration of the gadget easily take on other computer.

Another feature is already known from the beta, the display of disk usage. In addition, the network throughput can be shown.

The flyout for the hard disk module (accessible by clicking on the hard disk icon) displays information about connected hard disks and their partitions.

Die Beta Phase ist zuende und ich präsentiere euch hier nun die aktuelle Version 2.3.2 meines Gadgets.

Von vielen Benutzern gewünscht, habe ich nun die Möglichkeit eingebaut die Einstellungen des Gadgets zu speichern und wiederherzustellen. Dazu wird eine Textdatei erstellt, dessen Pfad und Name individuell gewählt werden können. Somit kann man nun z.B. eine bestimmt Konfiguration des Gadget bequem auf weitere Rechner übernehmen.

Ein weiteres Feature ist schon aus der Beta bekannt, die Anzeige der Festplattenauslastung. Außterdem läßt sich der Netzwerkdurchsatz anzeigen.

Das Flyout für das Festplattenmodul (erreichbar über einen Klick auf das Festplattensymbol) zeigt Informationen zu angeschlossenen Festplatten und deren Partitionen an.

Ganz rund läuft die Funktion für den Netzwerktraffik leider noch nicht. Es stock immer mal wieder.

Das liegt aber wohl daran, daß ich die Informationen aus Windows auslese.

Schaut es Euch einfach mal an. Über Anregungen und Erfahrungen würde ich mich freuen.

Quite unfortunately,  the function for the network traffic don’t work well for now. It stock from time to time.

But this is probably because I read the information from Windows.

Check it out just in time. For suggestions and experiences I would be happy.

I have finally found the error!

Now the gadget should no longer hang. Furthermore, I have given own loops to the modules, so that different refresh rates are possible. Currently, the refreshs as follows:

• 0,25s for CPU/RAM usage
• 0,5s for CPU clock
• 2s for Network
• 5s Battery
• 10s Calendar
• 60s (comes later for the hard drive indicator)
• all other modules refresh every second

I hope you like it. In a later version I will make the refresh times adjustable for the user.

Endlich habe ich den Fehler gefunden!

Nun sollte das Gadget nicht mehr hängen bleiben. Weiterhin habe ich den Modulen eigene Loops gegeben, so daß unterschiedliche Refresh-Raten möglich sind. Zur Zeit sind die Refreshs wie folgt:

• 0,25s für die CPU/RAM Auslastung
• 0,5s für CPU Clock
• 2s für Netzwerk
• 5s Batterie
• 10s Kalender
• 60s (kommt später für die Festplattenanzeige)
• alle anderen Module aktualisieren jede Sekunde

Ich hoffe es gefällt Euch. In einer späteren Version werde ich sicher noch die Refreshzeiten für den User einstellbar machen.

Nur ein paar kleine Korrekturen auf dem Netzwerk Information Flyout, welche manchmal bei x86 Systemen keine Informationen anzeigte.

Aber leider gibt es immer noch Probleme bei x64 Systemen diese Seite anzuzeigen.

Only a few little fixes on net info flyout page which sometimes don’t show information on x86 systems.

But there are unfortunately still problems with x64 systems to  show this side.
